The Playhouse Daycare

At our Daycare, we have carefully created a curriculum which not only follows the criteria outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, but also encompasses our vision (as teachers and parents ourselves) of what children love to do and will enjoy doing most. The children in our care really do get the best learning opportunities, along side the love, attention and care they need to grow in to inquisitive, secure and happy individuals.

Although we love the space at the Playhouse, our approach is to foster a love of the outdoors and inspire our children to want to get outside and explore; we give all of the children who come to our space the opportunities to do just that! We organise trips to local and not so local child friendly spaces such as parks, farms and museums to name a few. We teach them, through a carefully planned early years curriculum, the importance of having fun and becoming inquisitive, resilient and the very best they can be.

Daily Routine

At the Water Filled Wellies Playhouse, our aim is to create a safe, stimulating and creative environment for the little ones in our care.  We believe that by having a thought through and planned routine in place, the children feel comfortable, know what to expect and are given opportunities throughout their day to explore, create and thrive.

We have created a routine that encourages free play  (indoors and outdoors) and also encompasses all of the areas of the Early Years Framework. Our fantastic teachers plan focus activities daily to ensure that the little ones have plenty of opportunities to learn, grow and have lots of fun whilst doing so.

We have planned our days meticulously to encompass a range of exciting learning opportunities – where our young people are encouraged to be inquisitive, build resilience and make their own choices about what they would like to play; as well as focussed activities which are teacher led and teach the key skills the children will use in their later years.

Our Menu

At the Water Filled Wellies Playhouse, all our food is home cooked. Our menu changes throughout the year, but we endeavour to update our website when we make a seasonal change to the menu.

Although we have a prepared menu, we take into consideration the children’s preferences and will attempt to tailor this to their needs. We also have surprise amendments to the menu to  ensure that our children are exposed to a range of different foods. Any allergies / specific requirements should be made clear verbally and in writing in the Child Record Form when starting with us.
